Accounts on our own balance sheet.
Deposits, payments, foreign exchange, custody, and a statement you can read at breakfast, held by the bank that answers the phone and run by a banker who knows your voice.
- Minimum relationship
- $10,000,000 By introduction.
- Premier reserve
- 4.30% Annual yield, confirmed in writing at opening and on every statement.
- The Desk
- Every hour A person answers. Nine bankers, every day of the year.
- Custody
- Our own roof Reconciled daily against the ledger. Nothing lent out.
The bank that answers is the bank that holds the money.
At most private banks the account sits somewhere else. The name on the app is not the name on the balance sheet, and the person who answers cannot see the ledger. Here they are the same institution, the same building, and often the same person.
Your banker reads the file before the call. She releases the wire because she recognizes the voice and has already seen the invoice. If she is asleep, one of the other eight is not.
Instructions are confirmed in writing before the line goes quiet. The statement that follows carries a fingerprint, so anyone you show it to can check it against the ledger. How a statement is verified
What the account does.
Six capabilities, one ledger, and one banker who can see all of it.
-
Deposits and the premier reserve
Current and reserve accounts on the bank's own balance sheet. The premier reserve pays 4.30%, reset quarterly and confirmed in writing at opening and on every statement. No tiers, no introductory rate, and no minimum balance beyond the relationship itself.
-
Payments and wires
Domestic wires received by 4 p.m. Eastern leave the same day; international by 2 p.m. Above a threshold you set, a wire is released by your banker, who calls you before it goes, not by a fraud desk that calls you after.
-
Foreign exchange at the desk
Spot and forward in the major currencies, priced while you are on the line. The spread is written on the confirmation. Standing orders for a house abroad or a child at school are set once and reviewed each January.
-
Custody
Everything the house holds for you, from listed securities to the deed of a house and the odd object that fits no category, sits in the custody of the bank itself and is agreed to the ledger every evening. Nothing is lent out, and nothing sits with a sub-custodian you have not been told about.
-
Statements
One a month, on paper, written to be read at breakfast without an adviser. Each carries a fingerprint that counsel, an auditor, or a buyer can check against the house ledger without calling us.
Verify a statement -
The card
There is a card. It is accepted where cards are accepted and settles against the current account overnight. It is the least interesting thing we do, and we intend to keep it that way.
A deposit here, against a deposit on a platform.
The differences are small on a good day and decisive on a bad one.
| Aspect | GRH Bank | A wealth platform |
|---|---|---|
| Your deposits | On the balance sheet of the bank that answers the phone. | Swept to a partner bank behind the app. |
| The reserve rate | 4.30% on the premier reserve.Confirmed in writing at opening and on every statement. | A rate for new money, for a while. Then whatever the dashboard says. |

| Foreign exchange | Priced at the desk. The spread is on the confirmation. | A retail spread you will not find on the statement. |
| Three in the morning | One of nine bankers who has read your file. | A recorded voice and a ticket number. |
| The card | Accepted everywhere. Otherwise unremarkable, on purpose. | Metal, heavy, and the main event. |
Begin with an account.
A relationship starts with a conversation, then an account, then a banker who knows your voice. The Desk will arrange the first of these.
